Couples Therapy

Are you asking yourselves any of these questions?

  • Why is it so difficult to communicate and be seen by my partner?

  • When will he/she ever just let it go?

  • Why can’t I just let it go, it still hurts but I can’t seem to figure out why?

  • Why can’t we stop arguing about the same things?

  • Will this dynamic ever change? We seem to be stuck.

  • When I talk, they don’t seem to hear me. It is so frustrating, what do I do?

Every couple asks these questions at one point or another. Many don’t want to seek help or think that it means their relationship is doomed. Quite the opposite. To allow a therapist in to your inner world is to shine light onto things you may have been avoiding or choosing to ignore. Starting therapy does not mean your relationship is over, it means it may not have ever fully begun (in a healthy way). What an exciting thing to discover?! An entire future of healthy communication and depth is possible!

Once we identify the core issues, we will work on applying skills and techniques to foster care and compassion for each other and yourselves as individuals. We will work through unresolved traumas from the past keeping you emotionally stuck. We will progress and see evidence that your partner is really trying, they are moving toward you in a meaningful and powerful way.

This kind of therapy is unlike others. Working with couples is unique in that we can heal on our own journey alongside someone who deeply cares about that journey and allows space for it without giving up. Therapy for couples can lead to truly wonderful connection and growth. If both people are committed to the work and the effort it takes, your relationship can take on a new dimension and depth lasting a lifetime.
